Default Hello all, new to the site.

Hello to everyone. I am the happy owner of a 1992 Honda Civic DX 4-door sedan. I got rid of a 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix SE with a 3.1 liter V6 to buy my Civic. I paid $700.00 for the car, and currently have about $1,100.00 total invested into it so far. My Civic has 249,400 miles on it, 10,000 or so I have put on it just since I started driving it back in July 2014. Had to replace the radiator, lower radiator hose, front brake pads and rotors, spark plugs and plug wires to make it drivable (who ever owned it before me did not tighten down the spark plugs, I am surprised the car had run at all). Replaced the battery because the one that came with it would hold a charge for about 45 minutes, replaced the timing belt, water pump and tensioner because I had no idea how many miles where on what was in it already, and just today I changed out the alternator because the bearings were trashed in the original one and it made a horrible grinding noise. Currently I have an issue still that I need to look in to, when I get to 6,000+ RPM the charge light comes on. The only mods I have made to the car (it was BONE STOCK when I bought it): a short ram intake and a front strut tower bar (both cheap mods). The car is not perfect, but damn it runs good for being 23 years old and nearly 250,000 miles. My little D15B7 burns oil a bit, but the first full tank of fuel I ran through I managed about 44 miles per gallon! In the future I am thinking of rebuilding my D15B7, and have been thinking of doing a mini-me with a D16Y8 head, already have a header ready for the car when I make the choice to do the swap. As soon as I find my cable, I will post some pics. I am about to go see if there is anything that might answer my questions about what is now wrong with my charging system. Oh, and this is not my first Honda, I had a 1992 Acura Integra GS before I bought my 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix, I was an idiot and traded my Integra in on the Grand Prix, I had paid $800.00 for that, and still kick myself. One thing my Integra and my Civic share as an issue, neither one had a working AC lol.

The day after I took delivery of my Civic:

Did some clean up on the engine compartment and replaced the only leaking seal, the distributor o-ring:

More clean up:

Before the full clean up:

It has been roughed up in it's life:

Paint is rough, and the it was damaged in front as well:

First and second real mods:

More peeling clear coat (not too worried about that right now):

And this is before just after I put some 15 inch wheels on that a friend gave me, technically the first real mod I made to the car, but currently rocking the 13s for the winter, and needing to buy new tires for the 15s:

So, that is my baby. The last 6 months with her have given me more to smile about than the 6 years I owned my 2003 Grand Prix SE ever did. Looking forward to doing a head swap to a D16Y8, install my header, get some exhaust work done, mod an ECU so I can start tuning, get bushings all replaced... and so on and so forth. I have A LOT of work to do to this car, but it is a labor of love. The only option my car came with was A/C and it doesn't work, so I may be yanking that out.
