Been reading on some forums that it causes more engine noise if its removed, which my engine is noisy. It has a basic SRI and resonator was removed then. Could I be getting the exessive engine noise because of the resonator is currently removed? Would it help quiet my engine substantially if i have it put back on? Only other recent thing done to car was tranny mount was replaced which I posted here previously.

Only asked because I've never known what it was for. Was more recent that a someone said it quiets the stock intake system or something like that?

 

as the person before me said... you answered your own question. btw the resonator does not have anything to do with the SRI, it deals with the exhaust system.
