New guy from southern california. First Honda.
Hello everyone, I'm Jeremy and I just bought my first Honda. Been wrenching and building cars for years as hobby and career, mainly a hotrod guy and I love my low end tq. Needed a new daily driver that got good mileage so i could save up for a new truck. My buddy sold me a 97 civic sedan. It has 235k on the d16y7 and auto trans. Just did the timing belt and water pump on it since he didn't know the last time it was done. Car is running great and gets double the mileage my ranger gets so I'm happy.
I plan on running this till it pops and in the meantime I'm going to rebuild a spare engine and auto trans I picked up for $75. It's a d16y8, I need to do some more research on Honda bottom ends but I know that's it's going to be forged since I plan a turbo setup. Going to get it BAR certified also. Going to keep it bone stock on the outside and beat these cambered, fart canned, fools at their own game.
I haven't got any pictures yet but it's just a stock silver honda civic. Body is decent with minimal dings. Only paint damage is on the roof clear.
