Paint for Silver Steel Wheels
My CR-V has silver steel wheels. Rust is beginning to form in a few places, so I want to refinish them. Where can I get the same color paint that's used for the wheels?
I would just repaint all 4 wheels in any sort of silver. Are you trying to base/clear them? or just spray can? Just give the wheel a good sanding with 400 grit, and spray
NH700M is Honda's Alabaster Silver. That's what I would go with

Thanks for the information. Most of the surface on the wheels is in good shape. The rust is forming where the lug nuts make contact with the wheel. Rust is also forming where the small hub cover clips into the hole by the axle nut. Ideally, I'd like to just remove the rust and paint those areas. Is this possible? Thanks for the paint code.
Ok. If I decide to paint the wheels entirely, do I need to strip all of the old paint first, or just apply a primer? Also, is there a way I can just remove the rust to prevent it from spreading without needing to paint? Thanks again for all of your advice.
No you dont have to strip the paint, I would use a 400 grit to sand the whole wheel smooth, making sure to sand all the rust off, dust a little primer over the bare metal spots. wait for that to dry then scuff it up. Spray your basecoat in several light coats until evenly covered then clearcoat it. That's your best option, should take you a few hours

They sell paint made for alloy wheels, almost every car manufacturer uses a different color(s) . So even if they aren't alloy you can look up the different colors and pick the one you want, clean all four wheels up and get them new looking. They also have a clear coat to put on when you are done. It's a lot nicer looking to have them all nice and shiny, plus saves you time, so your not out there sanding rust off of the other wheels a couple months later.
