Hey guys. I have an 06 Accord V6 that just hit 105k miles. I bought it used this past summer, and have no service record for it, so I'm not sure if the timing belt has been changed already or not. I do know that the power steering pump and serpentine belt look brand spankin new. How difficult is it to get to the timing belt to check and see if it is new or old? I'm currently traveling, so I don't have a lot of tools with me, unfortunately. Would a shop charge to look at it?

 

The front cover is pretty easy to remove, but I doubt you can tell much by just looking at the belt. My belt was 8 years old when I changed it, and it didn't really look old or worn at all.

 

Have it changed, and have piece of mind for the next 7 years, or 105k.
