Default Big Honda Fan in Maryland

Way back in 1989 I married a girl with a 1987 Civic. That was my first experience with a Honda, the start of a great love affair with Honda, haven't been without one since 1989.

Over the years I've owned,
  • 87 Civic (manual), only 200k when it died. ExWife killed it.
  • 92 Accord (auto) don't remember much about that except the funky seat belts that moved over the window. Hated that.
  • 89 Civic (auto) got T-Boned and totalled.
  • 98 Civic (5speed) made it to 285k miles before I couldn't register it anymore due to emissions even though it ran fine. I just didn't want to sink money into a car with that much milage. I drove it from 120 to 285k, loved it, could get over 40mpg on the hiway but it didn't owe me anything. My favorite of all my civics.
  • 97 Civic, (auto) still on road, daughter driving it.
  • 96 Civic, (5speed)still on road, wife driving it.
  • 93 Accord, (auto) died at 326k, massive oil leak.

I currently drive
  • 91 Civic Hatchback, 4 Speed, gets 45mpg on the hiway!
  • and my newest, my dream car, 95 Del Sol! 174k miles. So far this is the funnest of all my Hondas. I can't wait for good weather to go topless.
  • 86 Honda Magna Motorcycle. When I bought it 5 years ago, it was my first bike. All I've had to do is change the oil and coolant. That's why I love Hondas! I treat them right, they treat me right. My civics get better mpgs though, go figure. Maybe it's the way I drive vs how I ride.

If anyone is in the area I can help wrench, done a lot on these cars over the years.

del sol is a very nice toy of course even if I don't really like its design... on the contrary I love 3rd gen hatch ! I'm sure you enjoyed it with its manual 5 speed

Will you tune your del sol ?

I agree that my Del Sol is a GREAT toy. No, I'm not going to tune it or anything. Tune Up maybe when it needs but I'd rather keep it stock. Thanks!
