91 civic wagon clutch cable question.
How's it going everyone. So I'm trying to clean up my new 91 rt4wd civic wagon and it has the wrong clutch cable in it. Normally i wouldnt care but it's way to long even though i have it adjusted as tight as it goes. It makes it awkward to drive since you have to shove the pedal through the floor to shift lol.... anyway I've been searching for a new oem clutch cable (for obvious reasons) but it would seem that the one I need has been discontinued (22910-SH5-A63). Most reputable sites say that it's discontinue, however I have found a few "shady" looking ones that say they have it in stock. So thus my questions are:
1. Should I pay $60 for a new one on one of those "shady" looking sites?
2. Is an oem cable worth it? Feeling/durability wise.
3. If i do go aftermarket which brand would be the best? Beck/arnely, pioneer, atp, or...???
I would just try and find a used one, however ive read that a new one feels much better than used..?
Ive been doing a fair amount of research and it seems that the wagon clutch cables are year/rt4wd specific? So a regular 88-91 civic clutch cable wont work. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong though. Also on a side note I need a speedo cable as well. Will any ef speedo cable work?? Thanks for any help guys, much appreciated! !

Also, Civic Wagons are notorious for breaking the clutch pedal off the pedal box. I've broken 2. Get under the dash, push the clutch pedal, inspect the pedal box for flexing, perhaps it's cracked and that's why the cable isn't engaging.
I appreciate the reply! Yah i just joined the other day but haven't really had a chance to look around over there.
I've definitely heard the horror stories about how wagons are notorious for that. However I'm positive that it's the actual cable because the guy I got it from broke the original one and just threw another one in and never got around to getting the correct one.
The issue with breaking the pedal bracket is why I'm stressing about getting the correct length cable, because I don't want to put the assembly under any Un-needed stresses.
