starting issues...
hey guys, this is Raymond again, having a very odd issue that i have never seen before.
i have my 1990 honda civic hatchback, 1.5L D15B2 and 4spd manual.
just replaced the clutch cable, after having to tighten the OLD cable EVERY TIME i wanted to drive it JUST to get it to turn over.
now that the clutch cable is replaced, whenever i try to turn the engine over, it rolls twice, stops, and my dash starts a very rapid clicking behind the driver side outer vent. ive had the car several months now and has never done this. just started yesterday. ive tried tightening the clutch cable more, and ive tried loosening it. ive also removed, cleaned, and re-connected all the wires going to the starter. i checked the battery, and it has a full charge and is only a month and a half old. could this be a starter issue?
as always, any help, tips, or ideas are much appreciated. thanks.

also, the main relay, igniter, injectors, battery, plug wires, plugs, timing belt, valve cover gasket, valves, and alternator are all brand new or have VERY few miles on them.
