Default Engine Rebuild Kit Advice (1997 Honda Accord LX)

Hello, I have a 1997 Honda Accord LX with about 210,000 miles on it that has an engine I'd like to rebuild. Specifically the engine is a F22B2. I have performed a compression test and all of the cylinders were around 118 psi. both wet and dry. Probably because there was so much oil leaking into the cylinders. Anyway, I have seen that there are 2 types of kits available and would like some advice.
1. Overhaul Kits
2. Re-Ring Kits
-- I would assume that the Re-Ring kit is what is needed most of the time. My car still runs "well" it's just sucking down and burning a bit of oil and is a bit underpowered. What do you guys recommend? Should I go with the complete overhaul or the re-ring? Also, what brand do you recommend. Both NAPA and Sealed Power have kits. Honda wants to part it out separately to me. Sorry if this is a re-post .

the overhaul kit will have head gasket intake / exhaust gaskets etc for the parts removed during the rebuild.

Don't bother. Just do an F23A1 swap. I did it to my '97 lx and I love it. I have about $500 invested into the entire swap.

IMO, locate a Japanese engine importer and purchase a low-mileage unit. Less down time, and you can always rebuild your original engine at a leisurely rate, if you want to.

I just finished an F22B2 rebuild on my 1997 Accord. I used a DNJ kit. I really rebuilt it to gain the experience I needed to rebuild a K-Series to put into a 1993 delSol. So, if I did it again I'd go straight to Honda for the parts if I could. The DNJ kit was ok.... The parts just felt kind of cheap, but eventually went in. I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. So it's a good deal if you want to limp something through for a few more miles. I, learn, etc. took notes on my experience here. Hope this helps others out. I know the last comment was from a long time ago. 1997 Accord Engine Rebuild Notes | Broken Hive Mind I do agree that the F23A1 swap would have been better, but I wanted to rebuild the engine that got my *** around for so many years .

Good on ya, I've yet to really dive inside an engine, but it's on the list. I took the easy button since I was in a bit of a time crunch and needed to get my car back on the road.
