Hydro Graphics Anyone?
This stuff has been around for years. Had a friend do some cycle parts and a helmet, very high gloss and tough as **** too. Held up for years without sun fading.
The best stuff to do is very complex shapes that could not otherwise be done as easily.
Grilles, dash parts, consoles, valve covers. I have not seen one yet, but a whole motor would be bad *** to see.

Ahh Tyler...Love the movie by the way...thats exactly what i was looking for..durability stories. I am very pleased to hear this. I had indeed been looking into an engine dip, or at least a complete "shell" dip, oil pan block valve covers, anything visible under hood. I am going to look more into this. Thanks much man.
I used to Hydrodip for a living. It's the same process as auto paint, just with an extra step. The durability of the dip depends on the paint and clearcoat used. It's really awesome stuff, always looks great if your dipper knows what he's doing. Just watch out, it can get real pricey!
Also, you wont be able to do complex object such as engines. or anything crazy. It's a flat piece of film, and will stretch and rip if theres too many contours. The biggest thing I've ever done was a targa roof for a corvette... and I redid it 10 times and it never looked right. Hydrodip is best left for small accessory objects, maybe a valve cover or center console at most
