Importing a '90 EUDM CRX VT in 2015
Hi,
So from what I've read, you can import cars older than 25 years to the US relatively hassle-free as it doesn't have to comform to DOT and EPA standards anymore.
Does that mean that come next year, everyone will be importing EDM and JDM SiRs like there's no tomorrow?
I'm asking because I own a '90 EDM VTEC CRX and I will be working in the USA for a few years. I'm considering bringing the vehicle with me.

Make sure you can prove either date of manufacture or date first sold to be operated on the road. I suspect that everyone won't be importing as there are just not that many of them worth doing it...plus dealing with the government i am sure is a hassle.
Can you? Yes
Is it "easy"? Not really
Your best bet would to be getting in contact with a well known vehicle importer and try to find out all of the little ins-and-outs of importing. There are tons of little things that WILL slow the process down if you dont know exactly what you are doing.
It isnt as easy as just getting it here. There is PLENTY of paperwork that needs to be done, and it needs to be done 100% correctly. It would suck to get it over here and start driving it, then have the Feds come and crush it.... all because of some paperwork misshap.
Just make sure you do all your research and make sure the people you are talking to are honest and straight up people. It sucks when you have to suffer because you listened to someone who doesnt really know what they are doing...
