GSR with B16 head
Hey guys. I've done a lot of searching and found similar questions but not in the exact way I want to ask it. So, here goes nothing. I bought a motor from a guy for decent price. It was a GSR bottom end with a B16 head. I want to know, if I use an LS crank and rods with P30 pistons, will there be any clearance issues or am I better off just keeping the GSR crank? I also wanted to use ITR valve train with skunk2 cams? Also have b16 trans attached with future lsd and ls final drive. Any advise would be great. Thanks a ton.
On average b16a cylinder head have been resurfaced avg.of .010" so running the pr3 piston should put you approximately 11.7:1 compression ratio depending on what the deck height end up at and the gasket thickness you go with.
i think the only skunk2 cams that you "can" run on itr valvetrain are tuner1's.
for that you dont need compression closer to 12:1, you can do fine around 11:1.
just as important as compression is having a setup that works together. including header, intake manifold/tb, cams.

I was also thinking using the LS crank. That seems to be the majority consensus anyways. But, as far as the pistons and drivetrain, should I use the PR3 or P30? And still good with the ITR valvetrain? I just need a little help before ordering.
