Heater Contorl Question
Guys,
I have a 93 Accord and the heater only works on full blast. No other speeds. I am assuming its the Heater fan switch assembly, but I am not sure.
I need to check it out, but how do I remove the heater control panel from the dash? Does anyone have any helms pics I could view? I went to Majestic Honda and I see a breakdown, but I have no idea how to get to the back of the panel. Any help? Thanks!

no, how do you do that? Where are the resistors?
Do I have to take the blower box out? That looks like a PITA. Or can I just remove the glove box and call it a day?

I just ripped the glove box out and there is only one 2 prong connector for the A/C visible. There are no othewr connectors. All I can figure it would be it the actual module behind the **** on the dash. Are the resistors in there possibly. I have a hlem for my Acura, but totally different setup. Can anyone offer any more knowledge? Thanks!
I've had many 90-93 Accords HVAC stuff out, but always working on AC.
There is a module on top of the airhandler and if not there (or in adition to) the evaporator. I the evaporator stuff is just electrical circuits for cycling the fans/compressor with the A/C.
To get the heater controls out you have to pop the black bezel that goes around the guages etc (its one big piece) out. Its not hard as it sounds... the one suggestion I have when doing this is: TAKE OUT THE CHANGE HOLDER ON THE LEFT. Theres a screw behind there and I cant tell you how many times ive seen it busted up due to people yanking on it. On some cars (i dont know why some are different) there is a screw behind the dash light dimmer too. The other screws holding the bezel in will be self explanitory.
Once you have the bezel out, the AC/Heater controls come right out for testing with 4 screws.
Id check out the 4 position fan switch with your meter before tearing out the airbox.
If testing the switch yields no results post back and I'll dig out the electrical troubleshooting manual from the garage.

Ok I took the screws out of the following places..
Change tray
below cruise control
2 in instrument panel
2 under HVAC area
Am I missing any?

sounds right, just pry the bezel carefully from the guage cluster area and the rest should pop out. you'll have to unhook the quick connectors to the switches etc as you go.
