I recently purchased a 2015 CR-V EX AWD, my first Honda, and have a question about the illumination of the dash and climate control areas.

My manual says to turn the **** on the dashboard to increase/decrease its brightness. I've tried this with the car powered on but see no change. Do you think i need to make a change in system setup?

However, the reason why I was even fooling with this is I was trying to find out if there is any back lighting to the climate controls. When I am driving in the dark, I can't adjust the controls without turning on the map light to see what I am doing.

I was wondering if the words that says Heat/AC/Defrost etc were supposed to be illuminated or if it was normal not to be able to see the text?

Also doesn't look like passenger can adjust the stereo volume without turning on the lights either because even though the LCD is nice and bright you can't see the menu or volume buttons that are outside the screen.

That's really weird. Sounds like some lights aren't working correctly.
I'd suggest going to the dealer and play dumb - the worst they can do is tell you there are no lights in those areas (which I find really hard to believe for a 2015 car).

 

Sounds like its not working properly.
i have a 2014.. when you turn on lights your center console and steering wheel lights should light on... turning the **** on your dash will adjust the brightness on all your dash, center console, steering wheel, backup camera and door control lights.
