HELP!!!! OVERHEATING engine!!!!!
i cheked my fan, and the motor is ok, howvever, i never hear it turn on. What can i look for? i heard that theres a switch or something.
Thermostat works, and just changed radiator cap. so im guessing it has to be the fan.

since your car is a "crx-dx-si-cx" did this happen after your amazing jungle fever engine swaps.. if so maybe something is unplugged
if not.. wire the fan straight to the battery and see if it turns on.. if so it's probably your fan switch sensor thingy
replace that

I think its the ECT sensor ont eh side of the head, that will make the fan not kick in, and it will show it as overheating when you first start to drive it.
i couldnt find where the thermoswitch is. I havea d16y7 engine in there and am not too sure where to look. i heard its in the thermostat housing... but is that on the back of the engine where the lower radiator hose goes intO?
the ECT looks like a small sized spark plug, its connected to your thermostat housing... and the usual place the ECT and thermostat housing would be is on the left side of the engine head on hondas(between headers and distributor cap on the head)... i believe your upper radiator hose connects to the thermostat housing check it out.
engine coolant temperature sending unit($20-35 at auto parts store) sends signal to the temperature gauge and it also turns your fan on when needed.

There's 3 temp sensors switches on the engine (not counting the air temp switch). Two are under the distributor: the single pin one that sends a signal to the dash gauge, and the two pin one that sends a signal to the ECU that is used for fuel mixture, IACV control, timing, and the cold low rev limit. The third sensor is a switch above and to the left of the oil filter. The switch has 2 pins on it. This switch turns the fan on and off via a relay.
