what to look for when buying a TSX?
Im currently looking to buy a 05-06 TSX and I was wondering if theres anything in particular I should look for issue wise or common problems? I don't know a whole lot about them so any info would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!!!
Thanks in advance!!!!
Look for the standard car wear items etc. it's no different than any other car in that regard. But understand and research the differences between the 05 amd 06 model years before buying anything, try tsxclub as a resource for your search. Good luck! They are awesome cars.

Better features, more power, the 07-08 ECU is flashable. Some people do prefer the 04-05 looks. I like the looks of the 06-08 better as well though.
I would definitely get a 06-08 some of the older 04-05 were known for having oil consumption issues. If the car was still under warranty Honda was replacing the engine blocks with 06+.
Check to make sure all of the recall problems have been taking care of.
Get the print out of all the maintenance records that were performed on the car.
I personally would only buy one from a single owner, I've come across a few back when I was searching that had 3 owners which is an immediate red flag.

Sweet, thanks for all the Info.. im leaning more towards the 06-08 style I think, I would like to have the extra accessories and what not, and I do think the body style looks better then the 04-05
Avoid the 04 as it has A/C and dash lighting issues. The 05 is better, but can still have some oil burning issues.
The 06-08 is the way to go. Look for one with a 6MT and enjoy it for 1,000,000 miles.

Ive had an 04 for almost 7 years and none of these problems. No oil consumption, no lighting issues. A/c blew up under warranty in 2009. It's been an amazing car.
I've had my 05 for 2 years now, no oil issues at all. Nothing else really going wrong with it, just standard maintenance issues, Alternator, starter, battery, tensioner, brakes, etc.
A 6 year old car that has already had two owners and now you are going to be the 3rd owner?.......yeah I'll pass on that car. All of the TSX I came across that had a silly amount of owners were moving the car from state to state. A little shady.
Considering how reliable these cars are most people don't want to sell them to begin with, well at least not yet.
It's like buying a M5 that's been around the block and is all clapped out, I'll pass...lol

Be patient waiting for the perfect one. Go drive some that for sale around you and get a feel for the car. Then when you go to look at 'the one' you have something to compare it with. But telling you right now you're probably going to be looking for a few months to find exactly what you want. At least that was my experience.
Any particular comments regarding a TSX with an auto tranny? I'm primarily looking for one that will be driven by my old man, and he hasn't driven stick in many, many years, so I am not going to have him try / re-learn it.
