oil keeps showing up?
I pop open my hood and there's already oil all over the transmission. I clean it up and a few days later, it's the same way again. I wanna say it's the distributor but not sure. And if it is, how would i change that o ring/seal/gasket? Is it a complicated fix?
That o-ring is really easy.
You have to remove the distributor so make a mark on the distributor to the cylinder head so you can realign it when you go to reinstall it.
Take out the 3 distributor bolts, change o-ring, reinstall.

That easy? People have said it's harder. That you have to take the distributor apart. And that there's 2 orings or something like that..
Maybe you are thinking of the bearing? Distributor comes apart for tat, but it's not a serviceable part. Oring that seals oil from the cylinder head is easy
I did that on mine. Hasn't leaked for some time now.
I bought a set of brown o-rings at harbor freight for about $6. The black ones won't hold up as well.
Now I have power steering fluid leaking all over the place. I'll take care of that once I get it running right.
