I'm needing to replace the fuel pump on my 93 Accord.I would like to do this without dropping the tank.I would like to cut a access hole to get to the pump.Any suggestions on where to cut a access hole.

 

You can only cut an access hole in 5th gens.

Accords are very hard.
There are a lot of lines and covers and brackets to plastic stuff all over the drivers side next to the tank. There is always a ton of grime on all those 10 mm bolt and they will break if you don't spray them.
The really big problem is getting the high pressure line disconnected from the frame hardline! This will easily round if you are impatient. Put the wrench on it and smack the end of the wrench with a hammer while slightly trying to turn it. This will help a lot if it is seized. Sometimes I have even seen rusted lines that had to be repaired under the plastic cover.
The electrical connectors are deep in the trunk under the carpet on the pass side. Disconnect both wires before dropping tank or you will rip the connectors off and then dammm! Be patient with the pump ring and clean everything on top of the tank before you remove the pump; you don't want a tank full of crud.
It's a hard job on the ground, but these cars have a drain plug. Drain all the fuel so you can handle the tank. Good luck.

Did you verify the fuel pump was getting full battery voltage at the fuel pump connector?

 

hmm maybe the 93 is worse than the 94-97? Mine was cake but Its not my first rodeo and I dont live in an area where they use corrosive materials in the winter and its not a humid climate here.

 

make sure u check ur main relay before changing ur fuel pump. the cost $60 at local auto parts stores but $30 online. new fuel pump wont help without a functioning main relay

 

I drive it about 80 miles a day I'm just tired of it misfiring fuel pressure has been checked and wasn't in specs. I done replaced the fuel filter. I will check the relay. Where is it located

 

99.9% of the time you will either have fuel pressure or none .. its never just two low

 

Well, if the main relay contacts have worn from arcing or there is a bad connection at the pump the low voltage will cause the pump not to produce the proper voltage. Rare, but it happens.

 

I mean if the pump is actually working it will almost always be putting out sufficient pressure

 

This thing had done drove me nuts with the misfire feeling

Whether or not the issue may be the fuel pump, this link has instructions on fuel pump replacement without the need to lower the fuel tank, etc., etc.

I removed the back seat and I didn't see no access cover

 

1. The maintenance cap is smaller than what is shown in the service manual link. In addition, it may be a little behind the center of the rear seat. The cap is part #34 in this parts diagram:
