Rear Fog light install on USDM hatch bumper
Hi All,
I've been wanting to install a rear fog light on my USDM 1990 Civic Hatch. I was doing some research online and I saw that you could install rear fog lights on a USDM sedan rear bumper without making any cuts to the bumper support:
Rear Fog Light Questions....

I went to the junkyard the other day and took off a sedan bumper and saw that there was basically no room between the bumper and the bumper support. Also, the bumper support only had 2 small holes for the styrofoam filler, definitely not enough room for the rear fog light to pass through. I pulled off a hatch bumper and it was pretty much the same as the sedan. Also, there were no marks or tabs on the inside cover of the bumpers. Has anyone done this? If so, how did you get the fog to fit with the bumper support still on? If anyone has pics, that would be great.
Thanks!

Hey cj how do your brackets for the front look like? When I mocked mine up, I used the stock prelude brackets that attach to the top of the fog light, then I used some L brackets and bolted them to the car, near where the horn goes.
I used the same thin pieces of metal that I used for the rear fog in the pics above. They are easy to bend and hold their shape well. Plus, you can fit bolts in the holes, if you just widen them a tad. I have the "brackets" bolted onto the bumper support and they have been on the car with no problems for 2 years now. I believe the brackets are around $0.87 at Home Depot. 1 or 2 should be enough.

I think its just what looks better to you. I've seen the jdm rear bumpers with 2 fogs, and a lot of Hondas with just one, usually on the left side.
To me its kind of like the eg duckbills that go upwards instead of outwards, no performance gain just cosmetic points.
But fogs on efs look sweet, and if you own an EF then you know to mount them takes creativity.
