D16y7 wont budge
I have finally got the vaccuum lines, coolant lines, and partial wires connected up. I swapped a d15b1 for a d16y7. Most plugs are the same. The ones im having problems with is the ones on the intake (front). There are four plugs close together one is brown one is green one is white and the other is green too i believe. Which is not the biggest problem. My issue is, connected multiple ways the car wont do anything. No crank no nothing. There is the crank postion sensor that doesnt plug up anywhere. I am still running obd0. I can get the conversion harness for the obd1. Will that fix my problem?. Does the crank postion sensor plug up or can it be wired in?. Fyi i am using the dizzy from the d15. Am i not doing something right or am i over looking something. Really need some assistance
Forgot to mention i have it connected to the obd0 ecu and getting code 8 code 10 and code 20. 8 tdc. 10 iat sensor n 20 is electical load detector. Im freaking clueless on this
Something's Not right! Car should crank over.
- To solve that issue start with battery connections. Make sure positive & negative are tight at the battery!
A. Follow negative battery cable from battery to chassis. Next, same cable will also connect to transmission.
b. Check for grounding strap from valve cover to driver side headlight.
C. Make sure ground is connected at thermostat housing.
D. Check positive cable from battery. this will have two legs, One should attached to starter, other attaches to fuse box. Make sure connection at fuse box is the fused connection... It's usually the front screw in the box.
E. Next check make sure engine wire harness is connected to fuse box. this connection is located on the passenger side. It will be in the general location of the Engine harness connections. It attaches to the inside connection of the fuse box. - Next Connections on the Intake manifold. You should actually have 5 plugs for the intake manifold. the easiest way to figure this out is process of elimination.
A. One is unmistakably the Throttle position sensor. it's the Three wiring white connector.
B.Next grab the Brown connector and find the matching green connector. these are your fuel injector connections. longest wire goes to top.
C. Clear or white connector goes to Air temp Sensor.
D. Green connector goes to Idle Air Control Valve. - Crank position sensor from D16Y7 doesn't get connected. Tape it off it's not needed.
- To make the cooling system work properly on the car. Extend two wire's on back side of motor bye oil filter to thermostat housing. You will need to solder new plug onto engine harness. Don't matter which wire is solder where. this controls the fan on the car... It won't kick on until it's connected, be careful.
Just wanted to say thanks for your help man. Plugs are where they need to be. Ground is on the tranny and vroom fired right up. Appreciate the help. If i need any more you my friend will be the one i ask. Thanks again
