2001 Civic HX MT weird noise coming from the transmission?
Hello, as you can see from the title I have an issue with my 2001 Civic HX I was hoping someone could help me out with!
About three weeks ago, My father and I replaced a worn out clutch. When we took it for a test ride, transmission fluid leaked all across the road until we came to a stop with a loud bang. Turns out we didn't put one of the shafts all the way back in and fluid leaked out from there...
We sent the transmission to a mechanic, found out nothing was wrong with it actually! He replaced the seals on it for us as well.
Last Saturday we took the entire day to replace a corroded crankshaft sensor, put in new half-shafts on the front, and make sure that everything was in the right place, exactly how it should be. It should be noted that the transmission was completely dry at this time, and we do not have a hose to blast the fluid all through the transmission (We found a way how, and it worked just fine.)
Three days ago however, As I was driving along I noticed there was a metallic whirring, grinding kind of sound. Not like when you grind a gear, but different. At first it was only when I accelerated, but as of this morning it does the sound even while in neutral (except for when I press the clutch). My guess is that maybe we didn't put enough transmission fluid back in and maybe it didn't get everywhere like it's supposed to. Can anyone help me out?

Some additional details:

yes most like a bad input shaft bearing (this is the first to starve for oil when low ,and they go bad even when oil level/condition is ok) ,when you push in clutch the input shaft stops spinning and noise stops.
here's a great DIY replacement with video's
