This morning makes 4 times. I come out of work after an 8 - 10 hour shift and i try to start the civic but it only cranks and will not start. It sometimes seems like it is going to start but it does not. The prior 3 times I have had the civic towed home and it starts and runs great. The third time this happen we checked for 5 volts at the CPS and it started and ran for a week. The car does need coolant added often. Have not taken the time to determine if it is a head gasket or not. Battery light stays after the alternator was taken off and re installed due to a broken alternator bolt. Even stays on after the installation of a used alternator. This is the 4th time it has happen. What could make it crank and crank with no start. Then a tow home and it starts.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks

 

Sounds like possibly your main relay (fuel relay) is crapping out on you. I had this happen on two different Hondas.
