Engine type, body type, blood type? Newbie needs assist.
I have a '93 Accord EX Wagon. I'm painting it now but will soon be shopping for performance enhancements. In this corner of the "wrench turner" world, everyone refers to engines by an alpha or alpha-numeric "code". Same with bodies I see.
Where can I find the definitive list of which codes go with which engines and other stuff.
Thanks and I'm sure I'll have more questions down the road.

here's the list of my knowledge on accord/prelude engines
f22b1- sohc vtec head on f22 block...8.8:1 compression ratio (145hp and 147 ft/lbs of tourque)
f22b2- sohc non-vtec head on f22 block...8.8:1 compression ratio (130 hp and 140 ft/lbs of tourque)
h23a1- dohc non-vtec (came in preludes)...9.8: compression ratio (160 hp and 156 ft/lbs of tourque)
h22a*- dohc vtec (came in preludes and accord type r's)...10.0:1 compression (190-210 hp and 158-165 ft/lbs of tourque)
there are many other variations of all these motors, even one dohc f22 motor...i'm not sure on the rest and i'm sure others will chime in and give you plenty of other details on other motors as well...if you ever plan on an engine swap, an h22 is your best bet for N/A purposes (generally speaking)....keep your f22 for turbo or you could go with the h23 from a prelude...
