Icon2 Where can I get the seal for an OEM spoiler for EG8?

Planning to install an OEM spoiler on the trunk of my EG8. The foam gaskets, which are on the mounting surfaces of the spoiler's legs, have been painted over and therefore I don't think they will seal very well. So I would like to know where I can get new seals for an OEM eg Civic sedan spoiler? Or is there a roll of foam gasket material I can get that is sticky on one side so I can cut it and mount it to my spoiler? Also, when I wire the light for the spoiler, do I just splice it into the brake light wires on one of the brake lights or will doing that blow a fuse? Thanks.

Good question, and pretty sure it's just some standard closed-cell foam. I'd try a Home Depot type of place, and I wouldn't worry about getting sticky stuff, just make sure it's cut out in the same shape as the 'legs'. Yes you can tap in to the existing brake light wiring. You should remove the existing brake light bulb in the rear window; this is what was done at the dealer when the spoiler brake light was installed.

Finally, the install of the spoiler *technically* necessitates stronger struts on the trunk. This was part of a complete install at the dealer back in the day.

Personally, I would use weather-safe 3M double sided foam tape. It'll stick to both sides, seal it like you want it to, and you can lay and cut it to shape.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll try out the 3m stuff and take out the center brake light when I wire it up.
