Default Please help me!! check engine.

Hello helpful honda ppl.. I recently bought an automatic 135xxx 2002 coupe accord 2.2vtec I believe, and theres a check engine light for the code p0401 I believe for the egr, I took it out today and cleaned it with carb cleaner and put it back on with the new gasket etc.. 30miles later the light came back on... what should I do now? Also when I drive in for 4d when its changes 1st to 2nd gear it shoots the rpm up and then back down when it shifts and the car kinda jerks forward, but its only in that gear everything else works fine.. id really appreciate it if you can lwnd me a hand..

The egr port is blocked maybe, pull the egr valve and soak the port with carb cleaner.

Ok by the egr valve to you mean the top where the green sticker is, in there? Also quick update I scanned the car with a carmd scanner and it throw the p0401 code and it also have these blinking icons next to it, first on is a C ( Catalyst Monitor) and the other one is a EV (Evaporative System Monitor, I was wondering does this add more insight to the problem?

Fix the EGR problem then clear the code and I'll just bet the other problems will not be there.

For P0401 on your car, you usually have to remove the intake plenum to get to and clean out the EGR port as shown in this other thread. Just removing the EGR valve and cleaning under the EGR valve will usually not resolve the P0401 trouble code.
