if i understand you correctly you wanted to use the LS head with a b20 block.. if thats what you were talkin bout then you would have the same thing as a b20.. since the b20 and the b18b(LS) share the same head...

what mr. del sol said was right...dont waist your $$ on buying an ls head and then buying a b20 long block....BIG MISTAKE, just buy the b20 long block and you'll be set, that is excluding a tranny, an intake mani(i would advise getting a ls skunk2 or a type r, but if you have the money just get the stocker ls), you would want to buy a different exhaust manifold, any b-series one would fit (CRV ones SUCK!!!), you need a new driver side mount(when i did my swap (ek coupe) i bought all new 99-00 si mounts, to get proper placement ie. now axel problems, this was one of the most expensive parts $704 from the factory), a starter(b-series), an ls ecu, flywheel(b-series), clutch, plus all kinds or misc. tranny parts (shift linkage, fork, stuff like that), and bolts (flywheel, and any other hardware you may need)...install will run ya about $800-1000+

mine cost around 5 g's but while the motor was out i got some head work done, and i have a gsr tranny so thats alittle more expensive then an ls or b16 tranny, and a skunk2 intake mani....so it will be like any other swap, $4000-4500 total

as far as HP goes, the b20b makes around 125-126 whp with intake and exhaust(obd1)
the b20z has higher compression and ive seen dynos of around 140-143 whp(obd1) with intake and exhaust...as far as trq goes, the b20b & b20z will make about 130 to the wheels.

GOOD LUCK

I have the GS-R tranny on mine and it is great.

BTW the factory HP of the B20 varies with where it came from and what year the motor is

126hp (8.8 CR)

and

146 hp (9.6CR)

if you are curious about a stock B20 swap you can see my homepage.

b20 block has the bigger bore (and thicker sleeve, not just a rebore), and it also has an vtec oilpump, you can probably get an ls block + resleeve + swap in the vtec parts + you'll be str8. or buy a b20 longblock to save some hassle (just run a b18b manifold + cat and it bolts to the eg civic exhaust). just some food for thought :-D

ls and b20 ARE the same...that is the same crank, stroke, and rods...but yes the sleeves are different, they are "simessed" (hopefully i spelled that right)

B20 has different pistons, different bore, and the sleeves are different (and yes, siamesed)

Yes you can do an LS swap with the B20 block in place of the LS block. It will work fine. I think that's what you were asking...
