Silly newbie question, How do I properly check the trans fluid?
I just changed the trans fluid & realize the dip stick does not say anything like most cars do?
I added 3 & 1/2 quarts of new Trans Fluid & wonder if it maybe too much?
I've heard its just over 3 quarts.
Most of my cars have always said with the engine warmed up check trans fluid while in Neutral or some would say park.
What about my 2003 CR-V?
Warmed up in Neutral?
OR?
Most cars also have a Transmission pan you can drop & filter to change, But Not this CR-V.
Thanks.

Ok, Thanks!
This is the 1st car I have ever heard of where you check it with the car off.
I did not get the Z1 Trans fluid.
The dealer gave me another one that is Honda Brand, I forget whats its called but I do remember its NOT Z1
Is that maybe the old fluid that has been replaced by a newer formula that they sold me at the Honda Dealership?
