it should fit with no problems
make sure it goes in all the way... they goo one way... also are u putting the pin clip first>?? are u moving the little boot of the cable a lil backwards so it goes in???
or is it the cable to fat for the plug??
they are a little tricky sometimes... give it another shot

I thought I had mine in and my speedo didn't work for a couple months. Finally I started playing with it and it fit in another inch or so.
