Default D16Y8 Full Build - Oil Clearances

Hello everyone,

Im building a D16Y8, target 270-280whp... Eagles Rods + CP Pistons, Stock Block/Crankshaft and ACL Race Bearing

Its my first engine build and im having questions about my clearances, this is what i got so far:

http://www.nrteam.org/up/imgsimages/...1clearance.jpg
http://www.nrteam.org/up/imgsimages/...2clearance.jpg
http://www.nrteam.org/up/imgsimages/...d3clerance.jpg
http://www.nrteam.org/up/imgsimages/...4clearance.jpg

The mains clearances are good ?
#1 0,038-36
#2 0,038-36
#3 0,038-36
#4 0,038-37
#5 0,038-38

The rod clearances are good or too tight?
The #1 rod has a little more clearance than #2,3,4... (0,038 vs 0,025). It´s a problem?
#1 0,038-36 / 0,038-38
#2 0,028-25 / 0,038-34
#3 0,025-25 / 0,025-25
#4 0,025-25 / 0,028-28
(BTDC / BTDC+45º)

Thankz!

Thankz for the reply.

That is was i was thinking too.. its better to loose it and shot for 0.0015" (0.035-40mm).

What i can do to get looser clearances?

Micropolish can do that or its too much for polish ?

Thankz

Get some different bearings. I think they make acl race bearings that are thinner as well. If youre on the thinnest already, maybe have the rods honed a bit. I wouldnt wanna micropolish a crank

Thankz for the reply!

They are ACL RACE..

And i dont trust machine shops here to hone the rods ;(

Im thinking in switch the rods bearings to OEM.. and target 0,038mm (0.0015) for rods..

And keep the acl race on mains 0,038mm..

Thats a good plan?

i know..

but with the extra 0.001 i will have ~0.05mm of clearance.. too much i think

thats why im thinking going OEM and target 0,038-40max .. what you think?

HX are perfect! shim the oil pump and all fine!! d series have to thin clearence from factory. with looser clearence u havent a bearing failure. 0.05mm is perfect for b and d series
