Default 2001 civic ex brake problems

Hi I've changed the front brakes on my civic now the front drivers side is getting hot and smoking I've replaced the caliper and bracket and it's still getting hot and smoking any ideas

Did you clean the rotor off, then seat the pads properly?

When you put the new caliper on, did you grease the sliders?

It's got me stumped cause I've been doing this stuff for years and have never run into a problem like this

Yeah, this is a bit weird. I wonder if there isn't something wrong with the ABS module, to where you're getting inconsistent line pressures.

I'll try unplugging it cleaning the contacs and try plugging it back in and see if that works

Jack the car up and try turning the wheel. If it's hard to turn, the caliper is locked up. Even though it's new doesn't mean it can't be bad. I've had it happen to me more than once especially using aftermarket calipers.

bad brake hose? restriction inside can leave residual pressure (piston /pads wont retract fully)
