alright so my friend is going to do this hybrid swap. First of all, he got an h22 head in a trade for some rims he bought for 50 bucks Then he buys a complete h23 w/o ecu from this guy for 600

Im wondering whats the max you should rev the engine to on stock h23 bottom end?

how long will it last?

there are no holes to be drilled for oil lines, just hooking up a line from the block to the vtec head.

The H series motors arent really high reving motors in the first place, just because you can rev higher doenst necessarily mean your motor is going to produce more power at the higher revs. Plus the H23a crank is another limiting factor for the higher revs.

if you're not balancing or lightening any of the rotating assembly I would not rev it high

i realize that on a stock motor, revving it up high doesnt yield any more hp. i was just wondering so we would know our boundaries.

No you don't get it. With a VTEC head your peak power will be somewhere around 7000rpms, yet your stock bottom end was built with a 6500pmr redline in mind. I'm just saying that with a 7000rpm peak and you want room after that, you're pushing it on a stock setup.

However the Accord H23a VTEC wagon works, so I would like to know what they did to enable it to run like that safely out of the factory
