Default VFR Question

Anyone figure out how to keep a VFR 800 from scorching your leg off in traffic? Looking at adding water-wetter, but not sure if there are consequences.

Default Re: VFR Question (jayro)

Wear leathers/boots and it probably won't be as noticeable. VFRs run hot as a rule, and water wetter isn't going to noticeably reduce the amount of heat the engine gives off. I haven't ridden a VFR800 long enough to really notice the heat...my '96 heats the seat up after a while of summer riding but that's about it (aside from the frame rails being almost hot enough to remove fingerprints).

Be glad you don't have a '90-93 VFR - they didn't have a heatshield over the rear exhaust headers, and would barbecue rider's right ankles.
