Well, my fiance, who I purchased the 2014 Honda Civic for, has lost her engagement ring in the void behind the trunk/gas release. I can see the ring right under the foam which I believe is for the floor carpet. I have found instructions on how to remove the casing for the trunk/gas release for a 2013 but the casing is different for a 2014. How do I get the casing off for the trunk/gas release for a 2014 honda civic so that I can reach with a thin set of pliers and get the ring out.

 

Have you thought about snaking in a stiff wire like a paper lip or something like that?

 

2013 should be the same as the 2014 for that. However, step #5 and 6 are the procedures.

Tried snaking in a hanger and it started getting under the foam that handles the carpet.
