hey

i installed my catback and header and stil have a small leak but cant find out where.

under full load i hear a hissling sound inside of the car.
the sound comming from the front mid/passenger side.
when the car idles the sound isnt there,and whit light trottle the sound also doesnt appear

the catback tanabe medalion is from a del sol and modded it to fit an eg
the header is a plm tri y replica
between the header i installed a testpipe.

when i put a rag in the endtip of my catback and check for leaks
i cant see/feel anywhere presure/smoke/

al the gaskets are replaced only i didnt replace the gasket between the block and exhaust header,but it stil looks good
could this causing the problem ?
and why this accours with full thortle only?

all tips are welcome ,its driving me crazy !

 

Use some seafoam in the brake booster hose on a cold start and look for white smoke leaking out of the exhaust.

My exhaust system is mounted with soms stress/tension ?

When i mounted the testpipe it was 0.5 to 1.0 cm to short.
When i bolted the testpipe down the midpipe moved a little toward the engine block.so the exhaust tip moved also al little inside

When you stress the engine, the block moves and maybe then pulling the collector between the testpipe and manifold....and then the leak appears...

Maybe i schould buy just and asjustble testpipe.....

 

Today i looked at the blox air filter and saw 2 little damages ..could this causing the weird exhaust leak sound under full load

 

Yes.

Exhausts dont hiss. Intakes do.
