All blinkers and indicators stopped working after messing with the stereo
Hello,
I recently aquired a '97 Honda Accord EX with 232K on it. It needs work, mostly body and various cabin parts (window switch, rear door handles, etc.), but the engine and transmission seem to be fine. I had it inspected and the mechanic said I could easily drive it for at least a year.
While attempting to fix the current master window switch (replacement is on the way), I blew some fuses and replaced them. However, I made a mistake of taking out the backup radio fuse... which made the system go into anti-theft mode. Unfortunately, the previous owner has not yet located paperwork for the car due to having recently moved and being a young very early 20 something, so busy doing other things... so I took apart the center console, pulled the stereo, got its serial number and then the unlock code.
I put the stereo back and after it didn't work, I located a blown fuse for the Stereo/Cigarette lighter. Since I am still working on other things with the console (cleaning, upgrading things, etc.), I disconnected the cigarette lighter wires from their harness, replaced the blown fuse, and got the stereo working...
I then realized none of the blinkers work... The indicators don't flash either and there is no sound associated with the turning signals being on (when engaged). I checked the turn signals fuse, it's good. Haven't checked the bulbs yet, but figured even if they got burnt out, the dashboard indicators should still flash, albeit rapidly. That's not the case. It is as if the entire circuit for the turn signals got fried, ghosted, whatever... but the fuse is okay... so, I am a bit stumped. I haven't spent more than half hour on this, and would rather get some expert opinions before proceeding. Perhaps it's as simple as a shorted ground wire somewhere?
Thank you for any advice you might have!

Yup, that was it, thanks for the tip!! I actually realized it when I got into the car this morning and just logged on to update the post -- I kept checking my email for responses, but I think my settings are off, cause I didn't see any of the replies until now. Either way, thank you all for responding, this is a great site!! :-)
