Help with Oil Catch Can Setup on 98 Spec JDM B18C-R
Hey everyone.
I have a 98 EJ hatch with a 98 spec JDM ITR swap. It has some bolt ons and it's tuned on Crome making 195 whp.
I checked my PCV valve and breather box the other day, and there was more oil than I wanted to see. I've also noticed some blue smoke at times coming out of the exhaust. I just replaced my valve seals and the issues continue.
In the near future, I'm planning on installing supporting mods and getting re-tuned to make something in the 210 whp range, so I figured that an oil catch can setup would be a good choice for me.
I've done a lot of research on catch can setups lately, but I haven't come up with a solution yet. I don't really think I completely understand where to hook the catch can lines up to yet either.
I want to completely remove the black breather chamber canister, so I want an open loop catch can setup that vents to the atmosphere. I plan on buying a plug for where the breather chamber would normally go.
What do I do with the nipple on the back of the block that a hose would normally run out of and hook into the breather chamber?
What do I do with the nipple on the intake manifold that a hose would normally run into from the PCV valve?
Is there anything specific that I need to do with the nipple on the backside of the valve cover next to the oil cap?
What is the current best oil catch can on the market? I'd rather buy one than to make one.
Thanks in advance for your time!

Here's one I made for my Wife's Honda Pilot. It's been working great for years and hardly cost anything to make. I believe the craftsman line filter was only $20 at the time and includes a bracket. The fittings were the only tricky part. This one is still a closed system and the canister was simply spliced into the line between the PCV valve and the Intake manifold port.
