Cold Weather Riding
Just got back, and HOLY **** I AM COLD.
weather.com says it is 30. What do you guys do when you want to ride in the cold? I managed to keep my legs and torso pretty warm. Hands are frozen, neck is frozen. Going to go try to warm up.

I try to avoid it if possible. I do have an electric vest, but it doesn't help very much
Yeah, my hands and feet get the coldest, probably due to bad circulation because the body is trying to keep the "stump" warm.

One layer thermal underwear and a one piece leather. Most of the time I put on a pair of jogging paints that dont breath under a pair of jeans. The jogging paints break the wind that goes through the jeans. A long sleeved shirt under a sweat shirt and a leather jacket on top. I have a silk ski mask that I put on before my helmet goes on. Silk is nice and thin so your helmet still fits. Silk is an awesome insulater.
Spoken by a fool that rides all year round despite the snow, rain, or what ever Mother Nature dishes out !!!

Here is an easy fix. Move to FLORIDA!!!! j/k its cold here, ******* got down to 50 tonight, damn it, ive been wearing shorts forever.....i may have to whip out the winter clothes...
Rode to work this morning, and it was 30F out. It wasn't bad, though...got some warm gloves and a neck warmer that I tuck into the jacket collar and the bottom of the helmet. Full leathers really break the wind well, and silk thermals are the best!
Now if I could find some tires that stick reasonably well in the cold...Dunlop D207's SUCK

Gotta get thick leather. Layer like a bitch and get any wind breaking material on perforated areas. Get a balaclava that will fit comfortably under your lid and tuck into your shirt. Solid leather pants. I'm currently looking for a very thin glove liner as my gloves fit perfect right now. The fingertips always go numb and just "stick" to the throttle. Kind of unnerving when you have to make a quick grab for the front brake. Also tuck in the bike, the f4i has decent wind coverage. When its freezing you'll see me in 30mph traffic tucked in.

To keep your hands from freezing get some silk gloves to wear underneath your winter ones. You will be amazed at the difference. Also the chin guards are ok as are grip shields, although they look a bit crap.
