backup distributor starts/runs vehicle but in open loop(this is why its backup).

new distributor has failed, has no spark.

i've been looking around the FSM but i'm failing to find the diagnostic tree for testing out the distributor/ignition. have done it before on a 5th gen but have forgotten.

Post all CEL codes thrown with "back up" distributor. Reset ECU. Do all codes return?

i'm just going to have to spend a minute to try and track down where in the FSM that diagnostic tree is.

found everything in the FSM, also in the FAQ, i was just thinking it would be under distributor and not ignition, so i over looked it.

Anyways, ICM (ignition control module) had failed, replaced and now running.
