EF H22_WEIRD vtec
Hi to all member,
My H22A4 is acting weird since break in period finished after rebuild. When the car is warm after start-up, my vtec engages normally @ 5500rmp. At next vtec engagement, kick is felt at 6000rpm and increase again to 7000rpm for next kick. When the engine is all warmed up, I have no VTEC at all.
I am using neptune (P28 ECU) to map the engine and my afr is all good. I have no error codes on neptune and TPS is set up right. I have tested the solenoid and it is clicking/working as should when 5500 is achieved. There is no dent in my oil pan also. I have ruled out the pressure orifice as vtec is activated as explained above.
Can anyone help/suggest or have experienced same issue?
Thanks for any input

How's oil pressure when cold and hot?
Cold oil = thick oil = more pressure
Hot oil =thinner Oil = less pressure.
Sounds like maybe something to do with oil pressure at the vtec solenoid or downstream of it. Possible that the locking pins aren't all engaging correctly.
