h22 vs h23 headgasket? -kind of complicated inside!
OK so here is the dilemma. . im using an h23a(vtec) block and an h23(non vtec)head. . what are the differences in the head gaskets? Reason being:
car is ran in circle track class we call " mini-stock" and we are not allowed to run vtec. my stock non vtec h23 block had a hole in the side bought a whole h23 vtec engine with good bottom end. put non vtec head on piston hits bottom of head due to head being shaved i assume. but cometic offers a .80 headgasket which will work perfect for my application but it is for an h22 head. . will it work or are the passages/ports/ in wrong locations?
im h--series illiterate and have no idea. d/b series no issues but this is foreign to me. . any help is greatly appreciated!

Yea, thats the rules for that class and the only other h23 block i could find was the vtec one in a pinch,it ran great but we had contact from the piston to the cylinder head in number one, i just dont feel like spending $140 to find out a gasket wont work. the h23 non vtec head gasket is what i used last time and its jus not thick enough as stated.
and i cant find a thinker head gasket for the h23 only h22.
