Hello everybody I have a 00 Civic EX that threw a rod bearing. Purchased a full swap, switched over the wire harness from the old Y8 to run the existing ecu.

Well now the damn thing wont run. I have fuel in the cylinders as well as spark.
Compression read well across all cylinders
The cap and rotor seem to be fine
Is is possible for the timing to be off badly enough for it to not run at all?

Also are there any ways to check for a missing ground somewhere?
I can post pics if needed any help is greatly appreciated

 

Also double checked the plugs for the ECU and everything is where it should be.

 

So you've verified that it is getting good spark to each cylinder?
You also verified that fuel is spraying out of each injector?
Compression good you say?
Timing belt on correctly?
Valves adjusted properly (not too loose) ?
The liquid you're seeing in the cylinders is in fact gasoline and not antifreeze, correct?

If all that is fine, try pouring a little bit of oil into each cylinder through the spark plug hole, then put new plugs in, and crank it over. See if that helps at all.

 

What engine and ECU did you swap into your Civic?

Are the spark plug wires installed in the correct firing order?
