Found an 05 RSX Type S(I think) - few questions
So Ive been working a deal about 5 hours away from where I live. The owner of the car is the 3rd owner and not an enthusiast in any way. He insists that it is a base model 5 speed. It is a higher mileage RSX with Type S Badges etc. Anyways, the car is priced for a steal and I only plan to make a work car out of it anyways. So I ran the VIN # on the DECODETHIS website and it came up as a Type S. He still insists its just a 5 speed. The guy sent me a video at idle of the car idling and revved it up, and he said see it only goes to 5.5k. (Which I know at idle the computer does not let the K series rev to redline) Anyways I had him send me a photo of the Vin, engine, tranny etc. Here are a few of them. I am pretty sure that I found a steal of a deal on an RSX Type S right???
My signs were the Vin number decode, the type S cluster, the badging (which should have made it obvious) and the stamp on the transmission N42 which Ive only seen on 6 Speeds from 05-06. Either way I am just looking for some comfort before I make the journey to buy this car in 2 days LOL.

All signs seems like you found an rsx type S. Youll know when you test drive it. Just hit that 8100rpm redline lol...and shift it into 6th
PM me that guys email addy and phone number... I will check it out for you. wink wink !!! lol
The transmission photo clearly shows the reverse lockout solenoid, and the intake manifold is a PRB instead of the plastic long manifold that normally comes on the K20A3 RSX. It certainly appears to be a Type S based on what you have shown us here.
