Having trouble with my 1990 Honda Accord's trunk lid in that it won't stay opened. It's fine on flat ground; but on even a slight hill (where the front of the car is higher than the rear of the car, of course), the trunk lid closes by itself very easily. Does anyone know how to adjust the cross rods that are supposed to keep the trunk lid opened? Or, has anyone come up with a different solution, such as using a hydraulic arm? Thanks.

 

there is actually a TSB on this in identafix at my shop, I think it was a recall in 1991
the trunk springs where out and need to be replaced

 

You don't have a spoiler by chance, do you? It might be too heavy for your springs.
