Buying TWO accords!
I'm looking at buying two Accords, for the wife and I.
One is a '98 EX V6 Auto decked out with all the options, with 224k miles.
Other is a '99 LX I4 Manual, basic with power windows, with 210k miles.
$6000 list price for the pair.
I've done some searching and even with this many miles it would seem I just need to worry about the oils and a timing belt for both (maybe the clutch on the '99). Is this true? Are they that reliable? Or are there bigger issues that could crop up in a week? I feel like this is a lot of miles, but i know a guy with 450k miles on his 90 Civic.
Or should i run away scared?
Thanks!

Youll easily be able to find better deals if you have $6000 to spare. Timing belts are a bit work even if you do know what youre doing and if not then they will cost upward of $800 to repair, and also transmission. I found my 96 accord on craigslist for $1900 with 151k miles. For me, i dont feel comfortable with purchasing a vehicle with more than 200k on it.
Accord prices are all over the place rubbish for $1200 up to $4000 even if its overpriced. really just depends on what ur getting and what else is out there
Unfortunately I don't have $6000 to spare, I am selling my charger, and I need both vehicles. I pulled the CarFax on both and both have been completely maintained at a stealership, so I'm thinking that they replaced everything, even when it didn't need to be. Going to have them pull service records tonight to see if the timing belt has been done or not. The mileage doesn't both me on some vehicles, like Jeeps, Toyota Trucks or old Fords, but I have zero experience with Honda's. I can totally get a better deal on these, they both need a good once over with fluids, and the I4 needs tires soon. Price on the V6 seems about right, I4 is definitely priced high.

According to CarFax and the dealer they serviced the transmission on the V6 3 years ago and 40k miles ago, but had trouble locating the paper work, something about not keeping computer data that long (I call shinanigans to that).
