What steering wheel have i just bought?
Hey guys,
I just bought a steering wheel from yahoo japan auctions.
It was advertised as "Integra Type R (DC2) genuine MOMO steering" however i have since realised that its slightly different to the standard type r (non SRS) steering wheels.
Notice the horn and lack of red stitching..
Have a look and tell me what you think.. The only wheel i have found to be similar is apparently a sir-g optional wheel

That's weird, looks like a tubby ITR wheel. Could it be the SiR/optional one you linked, but with an ITR centre piece? Since it doesn't seem to fit right. Also horn button is the opposite colours to an ITR
Looks to be in perfect condition too, lets hope there's not a huge hole in the leather or something that i cant see.
There's no MOMO logo on it. All ITR wheels, srs or not, to my knowledge have the MOMO logo.
Check the wheel in this link.

outer wheel reminds me of a rsx steering wheel. the fact the the horn pad doesnt line up with the wheel at all makes me think its parts from two different steering wheels

I thought the same thing, but in this photo i believe you can see the M on the right hand side.

could be just the lighting in the first photo.
I hope it fits my dc2 if it is a bit of a Frankenstein wheel!
Another thought is that it was re-upholstered which would explan the black stitching and the odd fitment, but still doesnt explain the horn button.

So my wheel arrived..
Still don't really get what it is.

Does this look hand painted? i cant tell for sure.

Definitely (originally) a momo 96 spec wheel, however the strange horn and lack of red stitching leads me to believe it has been reupholstered, which would also explain the excellent condition.

Looking at it more closely, I'd be inclined to say its
original and actually in a good condition.
My 98 spec ITR, non-srs wheel doesn't have red stitching.
To me it seems that the centre has been painted,
and that's it.

That is actually a steering wheel from a CTR N1. Definitely not a common wheel, and looks to be in great shape.
Always thought the N1's had plain interior because it was meant to get ripped out anyway:

a guy building a rhd hatch purchased one from HMO, a few months back. If you search 1/4 down the page there's a photo of it.

I havent had time to install the wheel but i just counted the splines, and it has 29 splines which i believe means it fits a integra according to
https://honda-tech.com/tech-misc-15/...y-car-2842882/
So i guess it will always be a mystery as to what it actually came from. :D
Thanks for all the help guys!
Splines are the same between Civic and Integra. The difference is the key on the back one is vertical the other is horizontal, this has to do with the turn signal canceling mechanism.
