1995 honda accord lx doesn't start but cranks
So recently I semi rebuilt the broken engine on my 95 accord lx non vtec and i replaced one piston and the cylinder head.
The car doesn't start but it cranks. What could be wrong?

The car gets fuel, I can smell it and I checked the fuel pressure..
The timing should be right, when the crankshaft pully is on TDC, cyl #1 going from 4321 is top, i don't know if the cam gear is on UP but it should be (can't check right now because the cover is on and its night time but im 100% sure the UP mark is on the top)
The distributor wiring is correct.
I recently replaced the rotor and i don't know if that's the problem.

One question, which way does the distrubitor rotor face when #1 cyl is TDC?
here is a picture of it

please help me.
thanks
You can't really get the rotor wrong, however if you took the spark plug wires off it's possible you got the firing order wrong.
The cylinder closest to the drivers side is one, then two, then three, then four, closest to the passenger side.
The distributor cap order normally starts the one spark plug wire at the bottom left position on the cap, facing the distributor from the passenger side of the car. Going clockwise, top left would be 3, top right would be 4, bottom right would be 2.
It's possible that 1 starts in the top left corner then goes 3, 4, 2, but it's more likely the first order I mentioned. If that doesn't work, then go with number two order I just mentioned. One of those two is correct.

I think I got the distributor rotor wrong. DO you know which way the gold plate faces when cyl #1 is TDC? I know 100% the wiring is correct. So the distributor only goes one way. the distributor rotor position on my old head didn't match with the position of my new head. So I had to change the placement of it by taking it out and adjusting the rod. And when I did that, it still doesn't work.
I didn't try the unmatched rotor placement though. I should probably do that.
But do you know which way the distributor rotor is placed?
also the placement you said being top left ..etc isn't how mine is
here is a pic of the order for mine placement

1-3-4-2 is the correct order. u adjust ur valves in this order. there is also TDC and BDC. TDC is the #1 cylinder up BDC looks like TDC except the #4 cylinder is up but the cam pulley will point "DOWN"
the dizzy rotor should point to the 10-11 o' clock position when #1 cyl is TDC. not quite 9 o'clock definately not 12 o' clock
