I am working on a friends 1996 Honda Accord LX 2.2L and having problems. Here is what happened and what I have done so far:
Was told it had an oil leak from when it was run off the road and the oil pan was damaged. I don't know when that happened but it has to have oil put in it almost daily. Was called to help out with it when it finally died. It would crank (so we thought) but wouldn't start. Had it towed back to my garage and started checking it out. Found out that the camshaft had broken in two and the head under it had melted some along with the lifters above.
I have replaced the oil pan, head, camshaft, and lifters from a junkyard of the same make, model and year.
Everything looked fine and went back together okay but now I can not get it to start. Any help would be grateful.
Update:
Have replaced spark plugs, tested wires (getting spark) Can hear the fuel pump when turning on the key and smell gas after trying to start. When I removed the old plugs, I could see gas on them.

Reason: Update
did you time it right? firing order also? make sure everything is plugged in? does it crank slowly like it has bottom end damage, or quickly like normal?
if she got that hot youre bound to have more complications than the obvious. Head gasket, bearings, crank, oil pump possibly. like 4 cam said, make sure she is timed correctly. If the distributor goes in flipped 180 the car wont start either
