Sold my bike recently and was looking for a nice DB8 due to us putting too many miles on our Highlander since it's our only "family" vehicle. During the process of searching and purchasing I found a nice one but there was a little "family issue" that caused me to not be able to get it. My wife then surprised me with this sweet ride. One owner, fair miles, unmolested, need I say more? I was contemplating whether or not to start a second build thread since this is the family commuter lol. But then I couldn't help myself and went out and got a bunch of things for this car. Beware, none of my builds consist of HP, Tuning, Torque, etc. Everything is for show and/or comfort, just like my EG build. Not a racer/ricer, just into turning my favorite Honda/Acura into a more updated functional vehicle. Let's get started
The 15 Year Old Virgin:
Swapping Shoes:
Face Lift Time (with hired help... I'm the one taking the photos lol):
Remember that ITR wheel that was originally for the EG?
Replaced Fuel Lid (Original had a bad dent right on the body lining ):
Next Up... DB8R Spoiler Install, Amber Clock, Auto Climate Control, etc...
Wow man very nice, looking forward to this one, looks great already, very nice shell to start off with
Thanks Derek! Yeah I was so surprised to see the VIN stickers were still on every part of the car. The rear seats were UNTOUCHED! No cracking or creases or anything! Front seats are the only wear. Just needs a fresh paint so the front end can match with the rest of the car. Didn't want to show the Championship White front end while the rest of the body is Taffeta White lmao.
Not a fan of the front end but I'll be honest the GSR wheels looked better, I would put those back on.
I always liked the headlights lol. Didn't like the bug eyes the usdm front had. I swapped my EG wheels onto the DB due to having 5 matching wheels and I wanted to have a full size spare... little did I know... doesn't fit! lol. Ehh... I will keep the EP3 wheels until I go 5 lug.

2 thumbs up
Thanks! I've always liked these wheels. I sorta like them more on the EG (black car with grey wheels look better than white car with grey wheels.) but they have brand new Yokohama S Drives on them so I don't plan on swapping back lol.
More mini projects done this morning. Didn't know changing the windshield washer nozzles will be such a b.... I mean pain lol. RSX washer nozzles so that I can have that pretty fan spray:
I like the feel of the RSX shift *****. Have one on the EG (although that one says 6 speeds... previously planned on doing k swap on an EK sedan). Got the 5 speed one to go on:
And finally, stole the Spoon wiper blades off the EG to put onto this car. EG received some Rain X blades :
I agree with the other poster, JDM front is just kind of blah on there and the Fit wheels look cheap. Blades looked much better. Fit wheels are what I would put snow tires on LOL
That's cool. To each their own. I've always liked the long headlight look. Also, they're actually EP3 Si wheels and not fit wheels. Currently working on the spoiler. Wet sanding, priming, now waiting for prime to dry before more wet sanding. I was just going to wet sand and spray but there were so many little chips and nicks that I felt I had to do the work on it to match the rest of the car :-)
Started doing work on the Type R spoiler. It's taking a lot longer than normal to complete due to me only have like 30 minutes a day to work on it. This spoiler, as with all used parts, needed some work. Nothing major but there were a lot of nicks here and there due to transport. It could have been a quick 45 minute job if I didn't care about doing things right. I didn't even to work on it and just slap it on like some. BUT, I care about my car's appearance and I care about doing things right the first time (do it right or do it twice). I'm not much of a body work type of person, although I did have minor experience with doing so, painted a few lips, using adhesion promoter and all that good stuff so I somewhat know what I'm doing. Below is what I've been working on for 3 days now lol. 1.5 hours into it.
Here's some crappy shots of the spoiler with some parts that are nicked:
I sanded it down and shot some primer along the edges to sort of "fill in" those nicks... didn't think it was worth mixing some bondo to fill them in. The primer filled them in just fine:
After it dried I wet sanded everything:
Drilled the holes on the trunk:
I then thought it'd be a brilliant idea to add grommets to the trunk (didn't work... the studs on the spoiler becomes too short lol):
Color matches pretty well:
Wet sanded after 3 coats. Will need another few coats then wet sand then clear:
I just cringe looking at those hideous wheels you put on that nice GSR. I don't understand how they are appealing to anyone. Your title says, "all show." Please, make it look good again!

Well, there are a few reasons as to why I have those wheels on,. 1) I'm not a big fan of blades. 2) My set of blades has two different sets of tires so you can hear/feel the road vibrations. 3) Those "hideous" EP3 wheels have new S Drives on them (I originally bought these because it was a bargain, $200 for 5 wheels in great condition) 4) I don't want to spend money and time switching tires to drive around with wheels that everyone wants/likes. 5) They're better than steelies.
You dont need to explain to anyone why you have the wheels seriously, and
i agree there better than steelies and im sure there not going to be the only pair of wheels
on the car. Keep up the good work car look great

Thanks a lot man. It's nice to see the positives outweigh the negatives. I started this build thread to log this car's journey. Sort of like my other build except this one isn't a restore lol. Some may hate me for "destroying" this car but it's my wife's gift for me to "destroy." Will continue to do what I enjoy, and that's turning it into something I like. Stay tune! I have the following to install and some more on the way: oem hid headlights, ukdm itr cluster, wiring fogs (oem wiring), and more!
Great unmolested platform to begin with. Nice to see the car getting the correct attention.
Thanks! Will slowly but surely build up. Stay tuned!

I have been thinking about it for a very long time... I REALLY LOVE those ITR wheels but... spending $1600 for the 4 extra lugs + used wheels + all the time/money/effort to install those... I don't think its worth it. I want them though... I was thinking I could do that or... (I hate to say this) but I saw some 4x100 (gulp) replica wheels. Looks dead on and its only like $650. So, option 2 would be going replica 4x100 + NSX brakes all around... Which route do you think I will take? lol
On another note. Installed the UKDM ITR gauge cluster. No need to bust out the calculators to figure how fast I'm going:
