My 08 Civic EX Mystery
Good evening, all.
I have a 2008 Honda Civic and driving it is making me ill. I got rear ended at low speed about a month ago and weird stuff started happening after I got it back. My commute to work is about 45 mins - an hour in heavy traffic. Since i got my car back, I've had a lot of symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning (changes in vision, sensitivity to light, migraines, changes in personality). All of this culminated into my very nearly passing out while driving it on the highway. I had to call an ambulance, they took me to the ER, did a bunch of tests (of course, they neglected to do either of the tests for carbon monoxide poisoning) and they can't find anything wrong with me that would have triggered that reaction. My roommate went to get my car from where I left it on the side of the road and she felt weird driving it home. I had it towed to the Honda dealership and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. I bought my own carbon monoxide tester and it tested an extremely low level of CO while the car was idling in my driveway. Would the car need to be driven to give an accurate reading? If it's not carbon monoxide, can anyone think of anything else it could be? I've felt a lot better since I haven't been in my car, which sort of strengthens my suspicion.

Sounds like you're sucking exhaust to me. I bet the exhaust system took a knock when you were hit and it caused something to leak. Have the exhaust system inspected with a fine tooth comb from manifold to muffler, especially the catalytic converter. Then make them pay for your hospital visit and ambulance ride.
