Hey I use to have that flickering brake batterylight problem on my EF a while back. It had to do with my alternator, I didn't realize but the bottom bolt that secures the alternator to the bracket ( on the block) was missing and caused my alternator to be loose. Then my bolt fell off and caused my car to squeel. I replaced the bolt and but, tensioned the alternator properly and it went away.
